AstroMarkets was built on a single honest question: can planetary timing — stripped of direction claims and astrological mysticism — provide a statistically measurable edge?

The answer, for specific assets and specific pattern types, appears to be yes. Not because the planets cause market moves, but because certain cyclical structures — the Moon's synodic cycle, Venus synodic patterns, Saturn's structural pressure — correlate non-randomly with price behaviour in ways that the backtest engine can measure and verify.

Everything in the app is framed accordingly. If the historical win-rate is 52% across 8 instances, we say so. If it's 67% across 40 instances, we say that too. The data decides, not the symbolism.

Astrology cannot predict which way price will move. What it can measure, empirically, is the probability distribution of price moves given certain planetary configurations — and that distribution is demonstrably non-random for some assets, some patterns, and some timeframes.

Speculative assets (meme tokens, micro-cap crypto) are primarily driven by social media sentiment and whale activity. The indicators work least well here. We say so in the app, in the About section, and in the thesis generators.

Use AstroMarkets as one input alongside price action, volume, and your own analysis. The edge, if it exists, is in timing — not direction. The app is built for people who understand that distinction.

Common questions about how the app works
AstroMarkets is an astral timing tool for financial markets. It computes planetary positions using the VSOP87 series (±0.01° accuracy), runs Vedic Dasha calculations from each asset's natal birth chart, detects active pattern types against a historical backtest database, and synthesises all layers into a timing window indicator and written thesis. It does not predict price direction.
The two-part indicator describes the current timing window. ACTIVATION (ACTIVE / MODERATE / QUIET) measures how strongly the current sky is engaging this asset's birth chart. Quality (Expansive / Volatile / Contracting / Mixed) describes the character of that activation. ACTIVE · Expansive means multiple timing layers are engaged and the astrological character is constructive. It does not mean price will rise — it means the window is activated with constructive energy.
Because directional claims ("buy now") are both misleading and irresponsible without the statistical context that supports them. A 67% win-rate across 40 historical instances of a specific pattern is genuinely useful information — it tells you something real about the historical probability distribution. A generic "bullish" label without that context is not.

The Vedic backtest engine walks every historical trading day, computes the sky Moon's Nakshatra and the asset's active Mahadasha/Antardasha lord, and measures what price actually did over the following 7, 14, and 30 days. It detects 8 pattern types: Moon Nakshatra, Mahadasha, Maha+Anta combinations, Moon Nakshatra × Mahadasha intersections (the most asset-specific signal), Janma Moon, Ashtama Moon, and Mercury retrograde. Results are cached locally for performance.
All planetary positions are computed using the VSOP87 truncated series from Jean Meeus' "Astronomical Algorithms" (2nd edition). Accuracy is ±0.01° for all planets, valid from 1000 BC to 3000 AD. The Moon uses the Brown/Meeus 44-term correction series (±0.3°). Pluto uses Chapront's polynomial valid 1885–2099. The Vedic ayanamsa is Lahiri (Chitrapaksha), updating at 50.3"/year from the J2000.0 base value.
The Moon is Void of Course when it makes no more major Ptolemaic aspects (conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition) before leaving its current sign. This period — typically a few hours — has a long tradition in financial astrology: trends lose momentum, new commitments often need revision, and reversals are more common. The app detects VOC in real time and displays an orange ◌ Moon VOC indicator when active.

1. About the Service

AstroMarkets ("the Service") is an astrological timing tool for financial markets operated by AstroMarkets ("we", "us", "our"). The Service is accessible at app.astromarkets.app and related domains.

The Service provides astrological timing analysis, including planetary position calculations, Vedic Dasha timing, historical backtest pattern analysis, and synthesised written reports. The Service does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or trading signals.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is not intended for use by persons in any jurisdiction where such use would be contrary to local law or regulation.

3. Account & Subscription

Access to Pro features requires a paid subscription processed via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis (monthly or annual) until you cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with reasonable notice.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activity under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from the Service; (c) share account access with third parties; (d) attempt to circumvent any access controls or subscription gates; (e) use the Service to provide competing services without our written permission.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, algorithms, designs, source code, and data within the Service are the intellectual property of AstroMarkets or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. No rights are granted beyond this.

1. Data We Collect

Account data: Email address and payment information (processed by Stripe — we never store card details).

Usage data: Anonymous analytics about which features are used, to improve the Service. No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.

Local storage: The app stores your selected assets, settings, backtest results, and log entries in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

Location: The app may request approximate location data (via the browser Geolocation API) to compute accurate sunrise times for planetary hour calculations. This data is used locally and is never transmitted to our servers.

2. How We Use Data

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as necessary to operate the Service (Stripe for payments, basic hosting infrastructure).

3. Cookies

The Service uses minimal cookies: session cookies required for authentication, and anonymous analytics cookies. No third-party advertising cookies are used.

4. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days. Local storage data is retained in your browser until you clear it; we have no access to this data.

5. Your Rights (UK GDPR)

6. Third-Party Services

Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.

CoinGecko API: Historical price data for the backtest engine. No personal data is transmitted in these requests.

Google Fonts: Typography. Font requests may transmit your IP address to Google's servers.

Speculative Nature of Astrology

Financial astrology is a speculative discipline. While historical correlations between planetary patterns and price behaviour exist and are measurable in some datasets, they are not consistently reproducible across all markets, timeframes, or conditions. The app is transparent about this: every backtest result shows instance counts and win rates precisely because a 52% rate across 8 instances is meaningfully different from a 67% rate across 40 instances.

Users who apply the outputs of this Service to real trading decisions do so entirely at their own risk and responsibility.
